Delete your carseal account
You can delete your carseal account at any time, and you do not need our permission or help to do it. Deletion is permanent: it erases your account and the records attached to it, and it cannot be undone. There are two ways — in the app (immediate) or by email (if you no longer have the app).
Option 1 — delete it yourself in the app (immediate)
- Open carseal and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account ("Permanently erase your account and all evidence").
- Type DELETE in the confirmation box and confirm.
Your account and its records are erased straight away and you are signed out. Nothing is queued for review — the deletion happens the moment you confirm.
Option 2 — request deletion by email (no app needed)
If you have uninstalled the app, changed phone, or cannot sign in, email privacy@carseal.ai from the email address of the Google or Apple account you signed in with, with the subject "Delete my account". You can also use the support form.
We check that the request really comes from the account holder (this is why the email address has to match — it stops someone else deleting your evidence), then delete the account and confirm by reply. We complete these within 30 days, and normally within one business day.
What is deleted
Everything the account owns is erased from our database, in one transaction:
- Your account and profile, and the link to your Google / Apple sign-in identity.
- Your rentals and every inspection (pickup and return scans) under them.
- The photo records, damage findings and AI analysis attached to those scans.
- Evidence packages, their custody logs, the before/after comparison results and any certificate issued.
- Claims and the dispute packets generated for them.
- Your protection-credit balance and its ledger, and your notification tokens.
Once deleted, any verify link from a certificate of yours stops resolving, and we can no longer recover the evidence for you — including for a dispute that is still open. If you may still need the proof, download the PDF report first.
What is kept, and for how long
- Sealed evidence files (the scan images themselves) are held in tamper-evident, write-once storage — that immutability is what makes the proof worth anything in a dispute. They are detached from your deleted account and purged when their retention period ends: by default up to 24 months after the rental, as set out in our Privacy Policy, or longer only where a dispute or legal matter is ongoing or the law requires it.
- Purchase records for protection credits you bought are kept where tax and accounting law requires. Note that the purchase itself is held by Apple or Google, not by us — refunds go through the store.
- Aggregated, anonymous statistics that can no longer be linked to you.
Unused protection credits are forfeited when you delete your account — they are not refunded and cannot be moved to another account.

You can also export your data before deleting it: in the app, Settings → Export my data gives you a machine-readable copy of everything above.
